SandMan is a small Shut-Down-Software that helps your computer to intuitively and easily save energy and protect environment:

Choose your favourite process, fix your countdown time and activate it. SandMan will take care of the rest! And if you want to, everything can be done automatically.

1. Run the program.

2. Choose one out of three processes: 'Put into Hibernation', 'Shut Down' or 'Put into Stand-By'.

3. Fix the countdown or the time to run the process.
Alternatively you can choose 'Immediately' also.

4. Activate the countdown (same button for Cancel).

5. 60 sceconds before the countdown terminates a reminder pops up: Here you can either start the chosen process immediately, cancel it or extend the countdown by 30 minutes. If you ignore this, the process will be performed as initially planned.
(WARNING: If you choose 'Shut Down', unsaved data will get lost!)

Additional options for regular use:

If you want to use SandMan regularly activate the option 'launch with Windows' at the bottom-left corner: SandMan will be started automatically when booting your computer.

If you want to use SandMan regularly with the same time settings, activate the option 'automatically activate' at the bottom-left corner: The countdown will be automatically started with the latest settings.

If minimized, SandMan can be controlled by right-clicking on the icon in the system tray. By left double-clicking the icon, SandMan is maximized again.

By clicking the button 'Immediately', the process will be started right now, without reminder.

Have a look at the moon at the upper-right corner of the program from time to time.

If the option 'launch with Windows' is chosen, SandMan will automatically be started when your computer is booting. Find the SandMan icon in the system tray then.

If the option 'automatically activate' is chosen, the countdown will be started automatically upon program start. This may be useful in case of fixed working times.

Thus, if both options are chosen, constant working times or switch-off times for your computer are fixed after each boot.

Current settings (like countdown time) will be saved for the next program start.

The file 'SandMan.exe' optionally may be started with the following parameters: /hibernation, /shutdown, /standby.
